Clan and Banner Background
The Hongguoqi clan is recorded in volume 62 of the Comprehensive Genealogy of Manchu Clans of the Eight Banners, with the Changbai region designated as its ancestral home. The Chinese master preserves a variant graph in the heading, while the source text uses a more common form. Such spelling differences should be documented, not turned into invented separate clans.
Family Service and Distinctions
He'erhe of the Bordered Blue Banner has no recorded year of submission. His son Dali served as a niru commander, and his grandson Da'ertai also occupied a niru command. The niru was a basic company of the Eight Banners, combining household, service, and military registration; its commander managed the unit's personnel and routine administration.
Kinship, Succession, and Evidence
This record shows two successive generations holding a type of company command, but it does not demonstrate that they administered the very same company or that the office passed through a specifically documented hereditary appointment. The Changbai label describes a broad historic mountain region, not a specific modern county, and Bordered Blue Banner membership describes registration, not birthplace. The original graph of the clan name, its company assignments, and appointment dates require further research.
