Overview
Sanqiha is a member of the Tatara clan of the Bordered Blue Banner, listed in Volume 11 of the official genealogy of the Eight Banners Manchu Clans compiled during the Qianlong reign. He lived in the Zakumu area and submitted to the Qing dynasty at its beginning. The Bordered Blue Banner was one of the Eight Banners, and the banner color indicated organizational affiliation in the genealogy. Tatara was a family surname; one cannot infer that all clan members belonged to the Bordered Blue Banner based solely on the surname. The original entry does not include Sanqiha's official position, lifespan, or specific year of submission.
Among his descendants, his grandson Luo Hui served as a cavalry captain, and Fei Yanggu is recorded as a current fourth-rank official; his great-grandson Heliha and Liushi both served as guard captains, and his great-great-grandson Changde is recorded as a current cavalry captain. "Liushi" is a name in the list, while "fourth-rank official" only indicates Fei Yanggu's official rank and is insufficient to confirm his specific position, affiliation, or rank. Both should not be confused simply because they contain numbers.
The cavalry captains were related to the management of banner soldiers under their respective banners, while the guard captains belonged to the guard organization and were responsible for corresponding basic management and guard duties. The co-occurrence of two types of military positions indicates that the younger generation participated in the Eight Banners military system, but it does not necessarily mean that a certain position was passed down continuously to the next generation. The former and current positions in the genealogy reflect the status of the positions at the time of compilation; the actual paternal lineage, place of office, and modern location of the Zakumu for each generation still need further verification.
