Overview

Yaose was a bondservant of the Irgen Gioro clan during the Qing Dynasty, residing in Yarhu. The year of his submission is unknown. The official clan genealogy of the Qianlong era, *The General Genealogy of the Manchu Clans of the Eight Banners*, Volume 13, lists him under the Bordered Blue Banner bondservant list, noting that he once served as an Assistant Minister, and that his grandson, Liu Baozhu, once served as a Military Officer. It also notes that he was transferred from the Plain White Banner bondservant status. The entry concludes by stating that Yaose and the Plain Yellow Banner were from the same Manchu clan and village, indicating that branches of the same clan could belong to different banners.

An Assistant Minister was an official in the Qing Dynasty government handling departmental affairs. The title "Assistant Minister" should not be interpreted as a respectful title for wealthy commoners. His specific affiliation is not recorded, so no official agency is provided. A Military Officer participated in the basic military management and guard duties of the Imperial Guard. The military rank of a grandson and the civil service rank of his grandfather should be interpreted separately; one cannot infer from the official title that the two served in the same institution. Bondservants were a specific banner identity and organization with a specific affiliation; they cannot be simply equated with ordinary employees, nor can they be categorized under the Imperial Household Department based solely on the title. The text regarding the transfer of the Plain White Banner to the Bordered Blue Banner should be preserved and modified, rather than being forcibly fixed to a single banner color for life; there is no evidence from the same clan that Yao Se and Man Zhu are brothers. The individual's term of office, the prefecture to which the bondservant belonged, the time of the banner transfer, and the location of Yarhu Village still need to be verified through the original inscriptions and archives.
