Overview
Wenpuli was a member of the Fuca clan of the Plain Yellow Banner in the early Qing Dynasty. His family had lived in the Jiamuhu area for generations and submitted to the Qing Dynasty at the beginning of the dynasty. Volume 27 of the official Qing Dynasty clan genealogy, *The Comprehensive Genealogy of the Manchu Clans of the Eight Banners*, records that his great-grandson Yingzhu served as an infantry officer, and Dalihu participated in the campaign against Chahar Burni as a commissioned guard officer, distinguishing himself in the Dalu area and receiving the title of Yunqiwei (a military rank). This title was subsequently inherited by his son Ajintai and grandson Maxitai. His great-great-grandson Yasong'a served as a defense officer, and his fifth-generation descendant Sanbao served as an assistant secretary, Wushiliu as a defense officer, and Yuanzhu as a cavalry officer. Later generations also had deputy cavalry officers. The term "commissioned" indicates a temporary military post. Guard officers belonged to the guard battalion, while infantry officers, cavalry officers, and defense officers were separate military management positions. Yunqiwei was a hereditary military rank and should not be confused with the promotion or demotion of the same position. An assistant secretary was a civil official of the department level and should not be written as a military rank simply because many members of the family held military positions. Sanbao, Wushiliu, and Qishiliu are personal names and should not be considered as a number of officials. The details of Winbury's position are not mentioned in the biography. Jiamuhu is his ancestral home, and Dalu is the site of a later battle. The specific location, the dates of the battles, and the various agencies involved still need to be verified.
