Overview
Diyouge was a member of the Wuzhala clan of the Plain White Banner during the early Qing Dynasty. Volume 30 of the official Qing Dynasty genealogy, *the Comprehensive Genealogy of the Manchu Clans of the Eight Banners*, records that his family originally resided in Saharcha and submitted to the Qing Dynasty at the beginning of the dynasty. His grandson, Nikshebu, served as a Doctor. His great-grandson, Tongkubu, served as an acting military officer in Yunnan, distinguishing himself at Shimenkan and Huangcaoba. After his death, he was posthumously awarded the title of Yunqiwei for his military achievements, which was inherited by his son, Wushiba, who also served as an infantry officer.
"Acting" refers to a position held by someone in office. The positions of military officer and infantry officer belonged to different military systems, while Yunqiwei was a hereditary title awarded for merit. "Wushiba" in the original text is a personal name and does not indicate a 58-year-old successor. "Doctor" in the Qing Dynasty was an ancient official title, not a modern academic degree; different government offices could appoint Doctors, and their responsibilities should be differentiated according to the institution, such as teaching or ceremonial duties.
The original genealogy also lists descendants who held positions such as Yuanwailang, Langzhong, Zhujiao, and Sandeng Shiwei, respectively involved in administration, teaching, and imperial guard duties. The details of the Saharcha region, the doctoral and teaching assistant institutions, and the year of the Tongkubu war are pending verification; the electronic text contains an image of a doctor, and the complete name will not be created for the time being. The original material will be retained for verification separately.
