Overview

Bai Ying'e was a member of the Zhaojia clan of the Plain Red Banner during the early Qing Dynasty. The official Qing Dynasty genealogy, *The Comprehensive Genealogy of the Manchu Clans of the Eight Banners*, Volume 31, records that his grandson Jishan served as a zuoling (banner-company commander), his great-grandson Dede as a Xiaoqi Xiao (Qiduwei), Lede as a Zhushi (official clerk), and Serengte as a Hujun Xiao (military officer) during the compilation. His great-great-grandson Nengte was appointed as a Wei Xianfeng Shiwei (a type of guard). The end of the entry states that the family had lived in Hupucha and submitted to the Qing Dynasty at the beginning of the dynasty. The character "Bai" in the original entry is retained.

The zuoling managed the basic household registration and military records of the Eight Banners; the Xiaoqi Xiao led his subordinate Xiaoqi; the Hujun Xiao was responsible for military affairs; and the Zhushi was an administrative position within the government. The Wei Xianfeng Shiwei was an officer in the Vanguard Battalion, participating in leading the Vanguard and guarding the emperor. The term "Weishu" indicates the nature of the position, and cannot be deleted and rewritten as a formally appointed general guard.

The Plain Red Banner was one of the Eight Banners. The ancestral home of Hupucha and the work positions of the descendants are different information; military and civil service records of the same family can be listed side-by-side, but each must still be attributed to its respective individual. the original printed source of the character the variant graph in the personal name, the period of the special commission, and the agency to which the principal was located are pending verification. The official title is not included in Bai Ying'e's resume.
