Overview
Guo Heji was a member of the Sakda clan of the Bordered Red Banner during the early Qing Dynasty. The official Qing Dynasty genealogy, *The Comprehensive Genealogy of the Manchu Clans of the Eight Banners*, Volume 35, Ningguta section, records that his grandson Tuhune served as a military commander; his great-grandson Muchenge served as a captain in the Imperial Guard, Mahu as a scribe, and Buzhan as a captain in the Infantry; his great-great-grandson Fuheshan was appointed as a captain in the Imperial Guard, Huicheng as a secretary, and Shizhu as a principal. The genealogy lists descendants from the fourth to sixth generations. The end of the list indicates their submission to the Qing Dynasty at the beginning of the dynasty.
The title "Defense Commander" was a military rank within the Banner system. The Captain in the Imperial Guard was in charge of the Imperial Guard, the Captain in the Infantry served the infantry system, and the appointed captain in the Imperial Guard indicated that they were entrusted with military duties. Their original job titles should be retained. The positions of secretary, principal, and scribe respectively involved literary and administrative affairs; they cannot all be rewritten as military officers, nor can "appointed" be changed to "actually appointed."
Among the fifth-generation descendants were a deputy Qiduwei, a deputy captain in the Imperial Guard, and a student. Military officer auxiliary positions and educational qualifications are separate information; some names contain pictorial characters, so complete names are not yet created. The ancestral home in Ningguta, missing characters in personal names, civil service positions, and multi-generational family relationships are yet to be verified, and the positions held by Guo Heji's descendants do not belong to Guo Heji himself.
