Overview
Taxinta was a member of the Saimile clan of the Bordered White Banner. Volume 36 of the official Qing dynasty genealogy, *The Comprehensive Genealogy of the Manchu Clans of the Eight Banners*, records that he lived in the Heilongjiang region and submitted to the Qing during the Tiancong era. Tiancong was the reign title used by Huang Taiji during the Later Jin dynasty, indicating that his submission occurred before the Qing dynasty entered the Central Plains. The Bordered White Banner was one of the Eight Banners, not a modern administrative region.
His great-grandson, Daksakha, served as a vanguard guard, participating in the capture of Hunyuan and the battles at Qixingguan and Mopanshan in Yunnan. The genealogy also records that after capturing the Gui King in the Ava region of Burma, he was awarded the title of Qiduwei; during the pacification of Burni, he was further awarded the title of Third-class Qingche duwei for his merits, and later became Deputy Commander-in-Chief. The Gui King refers to the Yongli Emperor; Qiduwei and Qingche duwei were hereditary titles, while Deputy Commander-in-Chief was a military post within the Eight Banners and cannot be considered the same official title.
Daksakha's hereditary titles were inherited by Dalai, Dorjee, and Doyi, and the genealogy also lists other branches holding positions such as Guardsman and Assistant General. The vanguard and the guards had different military formations, and the adjutant general belonged to another official system. Tong Jiao was recorded as a member of the same clan as Ta Xinta, but this cannot be used to determine that the two were brothers. The correspondence between the dates and place names of each battle and the order of succession need to be verified with the original printed source and war historical materials.
