Overview
Qi Chong'e: Qi Chong'e is a figure listed in Volume 53 of the *Comprehensive Genealogy of Manchu Clans of the Eight Banners*, under the Ye Mu clan. He belonged to the Plain Blue Banner, and his family had lived in Hada for generations, submitting to the Qing dynasty at the beginning of the dynasty. Originally, it was stated that his great-grandson, Yierxitu, served as a military officer, and that Ma De held the same position at the time of compilation. The ancestor's own official title was not listed.
A military officer was a low-ranking official in the military guard, involved in management, training, and related guard duties. He cannot be written as a commander overseeing the entire military guard battalion. Although Yierxitu and Ma De held the same title, the original text does not specify whether they succeeded each other, nor does it record the same vacancy as hereditary. The distinction between "former" and "current" positions refers to their status at the time of compilation, not to directly calculate their age or birth/death.
Ye Mu is a Manchu clan, Plain Blue Banner is part of the Eight Banners organization, and Hada is the ancestral home of this branch. They cannot be replaced by the clan's general description of Yehe. The generational order of the great-grandson should be preserved according to the original text's format, without rearranging it when intermediate generations are missing. Both military positions belonged to descendants and could not be transferred to the Qizhong quota; the exact year of their allegiance, the specific residence of Hada, and the military units of their descendants still need to be verified through genealogy, household registration, and official appointment records.
