Overview

Sergini: Sergini is a member of the Ledi clan, recorded in Volume 56 of the *the Comprehensive Genealogy of the Manchu Clans of the Eight Banners*. He belonged to the Bordered Yellow Banner, and his family had lived in Heilongjiang for generations, submitting to the Qing dynasty during the Tiancong reign.

His great-grandson, Eyitu, served as a vanguard officer in the campaign against Huguang, and died in battle at Changsha. He was posthumously awarded the title of Yunqiwei (a military rank). He had no heir, so his elder brother's son, Songguotuo, inherited the title, followed by Songguotuo's son, Mukedehe.

His grandson, Deming, originally named Yuan, served as a second-class imperial bodyguard in the campaign against the Dzungars, and died in battle at Hetong Hurhanaor. He was also posthumously awarded the title of Yunqiwei, which was inherited by his son, Qishiliu.

These two posthumous titles came from different branches of the family, so Eyitu and Deming cannot be considered the same person. Qishiliu is a surname, not the number of times a title has been inherited.

Vanguard officer was a basic military rank in the vanguard organization; second-class imperial bodyguard was a rank within the emperor's bodyguards; and Yunqiwei was a hereditary title based on merit.

Ledi was a Manchu clan, Heilongjiang was their ancestral home, and Tiancong was the reign title of Huang Taiji; the ancestors' submission and the descendants' deaths in battle occurred at different times.
