Overview

Deming (originally written as "Deming") is listed in the entry near the Zhou family in Volume 76 of the *Comprehensive Genealogy of the Manchu Clans of the Eight Banners*. He is recorded as a member of the Bordered Yellow Banner's bondservant management, and his family had lived in the Pozi area for generations, but the year of their arrival is unknown. The original text clearly states that he himself served as a pastoral chief, a position that must be distinguished from the official positions held by his descendants; however, the original text does not specify the location or duration of Deming's tenure.

His grandson, Tuose, served as an assistant minister, and Yingge served as a sixth-rank official. His great-grandson, Saiketu, served as an inner steward; Fatai served as a military officer during the compilation of the genealogy; Huashan served as an infantry officer; Qinbao served as a storehouse clerk; and Zhangzhu, Qianshengbao, and Zhufubao served as scribes. His great-great-grandson, Shulehe, served as a storehouse clerk, and Cunzhu served as a stable master; his fourth-generation descendants, Dehui, Dening, and Chengming, served as scribes during the compilation of the genealogy.

These positions encompass different areas such as pastoral affairs, stable management, clerkship, storehouse management, and banner camp management, and cannot be considered a hereditary sequence of the same post. In particular, "grandson," "great-grandson," "great-great-grandson," and "fourth-generation grandson" belong to different generations, and the original text does not specify the exact father-son lineage for each person, so a complete genealogy cannot be arbitrarily added. "Pozi" is also a historical place name in the genealogy, and its corresponding modern location cannot be determined without collation.
