Overview

Baihao is a figure from the Bordered White Banner, listed in Volume 77 of the *Comprehensive Genealogy of the Manchu Clans of the Eight Banners*, specifically in the section on the Bai clan. His family resided in Guoerqin, but the year of their arrival is unknown.

The genealogy records that his grandson, Solontai, served as a cavalry commander, and his great-grandsons, Xiliangzhu and Xinbao, served as cavalry commanders and guard commanders, respectively.

The Bordered White Banner was one of the Eight Banners, and its banner color does not necessarily correspond to the Manchu, Mongol, or Han military organization it belonged to.

This volume, titled "Appendix: Nikan Surnames within Manchu Banners," provides context for the book's classification; ancestral home and surname cannot alone replace archival evidence of a specific banner.

A cavalry commander was a banner officer responsible for managing lower-level banner soldiers and related military affairs; a guard commander belonged to the guard system and was involved in guard duties and escorting followers.

Solontai is an individual name, insufficient to infer clan affiliation from a name alone; Xiliangzhu and Xinbao are listed as great-grandsons, but their relationship is not explained.

The two military positions mentioned here belong to specific descendants, and cannot be used to supplement Baihao's official appointments or war experiences that are not recorded in his own records.
