Overview

Bingde is a figure recorded in Volume 80 of the *Comprehensive Genealogy of the Manchu Clans of the Eight Banners*, belonging to the Bordered Blue Banner under the jurisdiction of a bondservant officer. His family had lived in Shenyang for generations and submitted to the Manchus during the Tiancong era. The phrase "under the jurisdiction of a bondservant officer" indicates his official affiliation, not that Bingde himself held the position of Inner Banner Officer. Furthermore, the volume does not list his personal official position, so his descendants' positions cannot be transferred to him.

The original record states that his son, Han Kelu, served as a Langzhong (a mid-level official); his grandson, Han Jinghui, served as a Canling (a mid-level official); and Han Jinghuan served as a Bitieshi (a mid-level official). His great-grandson, Han Wenbin, was a Canling at the time of the genealogy's compilation, and Yichang'a was a Hujunxiao (a military officer). Langzhong and Bitieshi represent different positions in civil administration and clerical work, while Canling and Hujunxiao are related to the Eight Banners' military and political system. The original record distinguishes between "former" and "current" official positions, which can only be understood as records of these individuals' positions during the compilation of the genealogy.

Bingde's entry shows that descendants with the Han surname appear in the family lineage, but this does not mean that the complete date and process of the surname change can be determined solely from a single genealogical record. The historical place name "Shenyang" does not specify the exact village or registered residence. This entry should be regarded as a record of a Manchu family member in the early Qing Dynasty with clear information and restrained narration, and should not fabricate specific military achievements and political accomplishments of Bingde.
