Genealogical context
Doshika was an early Qing member of the Irgen Gioro clan registered with the Plain Red Banner. The family was associated with Ilha and joined the Manchu polity during the Tiancong reign. Volume 15 of the *Comprehensive Genealogy of the Eight Banner Manchu Clans* assigns no known office to Doshika himself. Most of the biographical detail concerns two fourth-generation descendants, Jianu and Tuodai, who earned separate military distinctions in later campaigns.
Jianu and Tuodai
Jianu served as a *hujunxiao*, an officer of the Guard, and received the *yunqiwei* merit rank following service in Yunnan. His distinction was later inherited by his grandson Eqin and great-grandson Yongtai. Tuodai fought in operations associated with the Chahar leader Burni, in Yunnan and at Zuunmod. His distinctions increased in stages to third-class *qingche duwei*, and he also held the substantive position of *zuoling*, or Banner company commander. The two family branches must not be collapsed into one succession line or their merits credited to Doshika.
Tuodai's son Tuoshanbao inherited his hereditary distinction and formerly served as a *hujun canling*. After dismissal from office following an offence, he was succeeded in the hereditary line by his son Yongliang. The succession to a merit dignity and continued occupation of an administrative or military post were governed by different records.
Historical caution
The family's Tiancong-period allegiance and the later descendants' campaigns belong to different generations. Additional descendants were listed in Guard and cavalry offices, but recurrence of an office name does not itself establish hereditary transmission of a specific appointment. The precise site of Ilha, battle chronology and missing intervening names remain to be checked against the original genealogy and related archives.
