Fase

Overview

Fase was a member of the Tongjia clan, Plain White Banner, whose family had lived in Feideli for generations before submitting to the Qing dynasty at the beginning of the dynasty. The official genealogy of the Manchu clans of the Eight Banners, Volume 20, records that his son, Haxi Hu, served as Deputy Commander-in-Chief; his grandson, Senchehe, served as Assistant Minister; and his great-grandson, Yabulan, served as youji (military officer) and Chuanjin, both also Assistant Ministers. His descendants held various positions, including Guardsman, Assistant Commander, Blue-Lanyard Guard, Clerk, and Acting Guardsman.

The Deputy Commander-in-Chief, Assistant Commander, and Guardsman were respectively within the banner administration or military command system. The Guardsman was a junior officer; the youji (military officer) was a different level of military officer, and it was inappropriate to use the term "Eight Banners Officer" to encompass all specific positions. Jin Tai's Acting Guardsman position remained acting and could not be converted to a substantive appointment. Assistant Ministers handled the affairs of their respective government offices; Clerks handled Manchu-Chinese documents, translations, and archives; and Blue-Lanyard Guards were palace guards. While the numerous civil and military positions held by generations illustrate the distribution of positions within the branch, it does not provide Fase's specific official title or complete paternal lineage. Federica is the historical name of the place of origin. the original printed source and the Manchu name were not verified, and the location was forcibly assigned based on the homonym of the modern place.
