Overview
Orika was a member of the Fuca clan of the Plain Yellow Banner in the early Qing Dynasty. His ancestral home was in Gahari Bihan Ali Village, as stated in the original genealogy, and he submitted to the Qing Dynasty at the beginning of the dynasty. The official Qing Dynasty genealogy, *The Comprehensive Genealogy of the Manchu Clans of the Eight Banners*, Volume 27, records that he served as a military officer, and his son, Anantai, served as a cavalry officer. Military officers were junior officers in the Eight Banners' military battalions, responsible for training, guard duties, and military operations. Cavalry officers, belonging to the cavalry battalion, assisted in managing their banner soldiers, training, and military affairs. Both father and son held military positions, but belonged to different battalions. Anantai cannot be written as directly inheriting the same position as his father, nor can the fact that they participated in specific battles be fabricated based on institutional responsibilities. The Plain Yellow Banner was a banner unit in military, political, and population management; Fuca clan was the clan affiliation; and village name was the family's geographical origin. These three should not be confused. The original genealogy did not provide clear punctuation for the long village name and its modern correspondence; it should be preserved in its entirety, and its location should not be directly determined based on similar-sounding villages. This entry confirms that both father and son held a military post, but it does not preserve Orika's term of office, date of birth, or specific military achievements; further identification of names and garrisons requires combining Manchu language records, family genealogies, and official appointment information.
