Overview
Yibaide was a member of the Sakda clan of the Plain White Banner during the early Qing Dynasty. Volume 35 of the official Qing Dynasty genealogy, *The Comprehensive Genealogy of the Manchu Clans of the Eight Banners*, records that his family originally lived in Zakumu and submitted to the Qing Dynasty at the beginning of the dynasty. His grandson, Farna, participated in the battles in Henan and Jiangnan as a military officer and was awarded the title of Yunqiwei. He was later promoted to Qiduwei and concurrently held the title of Yunqiwei by imperial decree. Later, after returning from Guizhou, he distinguished himself in battle against Zheng Chenggong's army in Zhenjiang and was promoted to Third-class Qingche duwei.
The military officer led his subordinate guards. The hereditary titles of Yunqiwei, Qiduwei, and Qingche duwei were ranks of merit, but the actual duties differed from the rewards. Farna had no heir, so his brother Zhihe Erhedai inherited the title. Later, due to dismissal, the title was transferred to his brother's branch and another close relative's branch. When Chang'ai inherited the title, the imperial decree portion was removed, but the title of Qiduwei was retained. The title was then passed to Suhene.
His great-grandson, Duosana, served as Yunhuishi (Cloud Banner Envoy), and Huli served as Chengshouwei (City Garrison Captain). His great-great-grandson, Changshou, served as an infantry officer. The title of Yunhui Shi was an official in the emperor's ceremonial guard and could not be confused with the hereditary title of Yunqiwei. The titles of Chengshouwei and Bujunxiao also had different military duties. The lineage of Dezi (the uncommon graph in the personal name), Zhakumudiwang (historical location of Zhakumu), and multiple collateral branches are pending verification. The military achievements of the grandchildren did not belong to Yibaide himself.
