Overview
Luo Tuohun, simplified as Luo Tuohun, was a member of the Esuli clan, belonging to the Bordered Yellow Banner. His ancestral home was in the Heilongjiang region, and he submitted to the Qing dynasty at its beginning. The official Qing dynasty genealogy, *The Comprehensive Genealogy of the Manchu Clans of the Eight Banners*, Volume 49, lists him as a biographical figure, with his specific deeds mainly concerning his grandson, Morkule. "Heilongjiang region" is a historical geographical description in the genealogy and cannot be directly equated with a modern province, nor can it be used to infer that Luo Tuohun was born in a particular county.
Morkule served as a cavalry officer in the campaign against Huguang, and died in battle in Yuezhou Prefecture, receiving the posthumous title of Yunqiwei. His son, Fushou, inherited the title, and after Fushou's death, his son, Ajitu, inherited it. The original genealogy records Ajitu as the inheritor at that time. The cavalry officer managed the lower-level banner troops, and Yunqiwei was a hereditary title awarded for meritorious service or death, which could be inherited by qualified descendants; the word "posthumously" indicates that this conferment occurred after the individual's death. Therefore, Morkule's rank of Xiaoqixiao (XiaoQiXiao) and his posthumous honor of Yunqiwei (YunQiWei) should be described separately. It cannot be said that he participated in the Yuezhou battle as a Yunqiwei during his lifetime. The genealogy also records that Qizhabu and Heise, grandsons of Luotuohun, both served as Xiaoqixiao. This information shows the banner camp positions held by the family's descendants, but Luotuohun's own official position, the specific year of his submission, and the dates of the Yuezhou battle still need to be verified.
