Overview
Guode, in simplified Chinese, was a member of the Juechan clan, belonging to the Plain Red Banner. His family had lived in the Ussuri region for generations and submitted to the Qing dynasty at its beginning. The official Qing dynasty genealogy, *The Comprehensive Genealogy of the Manchu Clans of the Eight Banners*, Volume 49, records that the Juechan surname originated from a place name and lists Guode's branch as a notable figure. Here, Ussuri is used to describe the ancestral homeland and cannot be used to directly define the location of a modern county or city.
Guode's second son, Konorun, served as a non-official in the campaign against Ganzhou. He was the first to scale the city walls and was granted the title of Baturu and the rank of Qiduwei. Later, he received two imperial edicts that promoted him to Third-Class Qingche duwei. His son, Yatu, inherited the title but died, and it was then inherited by Yatu's uncle's grandson, Hetuo. Hetuo's brother, Piantu, also inherited it. Piantu's son, Changtai, inherited the title but stripped the additional imperial edicts, retaining only the rank of Qiduwei. Baturu was a title praising bravery, while Qiduwei and Qingche duwei were hereditary titles, representing two different types of honors. This lineage passes through collateral branches, so it's impossible to list every successor as the son of the previous ruler, nor can it be said that Guode himself received these rewards for conquering the city. The genealogy also records that Guode's grandson, Nongna, once served as an eighth-rank official, but only the rank is listed, without a specific title. The dates of the Ganzhou battle, the connections between different branches of the family, and the ancestral home still need to be verified.
