Overview

The Andara clan is a Manchu surname listed in Volume 56 of the officially compiled *Comprehensive Genealogy of the Manchu Clans of the Eight Banners*, and its ancestors resided in the Heilongjiang region. The main lineage, Qierkede, belonged to the Plain Blue Banner and submitted to the Qing dynasty during the Tiancong era. Tiancong was the reign title used by Huang Taiji during the Later Jin period, from 1627 to 1636; therefore, this record pertains to submission before the conquest of China.

Qierkede's son, Yeduhe, served as an acting military commander in the campaign against Zhejiang, fighting at Shitang, Taipingshan, and Guotangshan, among other places. The genealogy mentions the troops of Zheng Wending, Zhao Desheng, and Liu Guoxuan. Later, he joined the army in the campaign against Yunnan, fighting against the troops of He Jizu and Hu Guobing at Huangcaoba and outside Yunnan City. After Yeduhe's death, he was posthumously awarded the title of Qiduwei for his merits, which was inherited by his son, Anzhu. These specific military achievements belong to Yeduhe and cannot be attributed to Qierkede himself.

The title of "Canling" refers to an official in the Eight Banners military and political organization. "Delegated" indicates the manner in which he was appointed. The posthumous conferment of the title of "Qiduwei" was a hereditary honor awarded for meritorious service. Living in peace and inheriting the title does not mean that he repeated his father's path of military service. The exact location of the ancestral home in Heilongjiang, the various ancient battlefields, and the exact dates of the battles still need to be verified. Modern provincial boundaries cannot be directly used to replace the ancestral home.
