Overview
The Tukedun clan is a Manchu surname recorded in Volume 56 of the officially compiled *Comprehensive Genealogy of the Manchu Clans of the Eight Banners*, and its ancestral home was Dahuli. The main biography states that Momin was a member of the Bordered Blue Banner, who surrendered at the beginning of the dynasty. His son, Cheertu, served as a military commander and participated in the campaign against Huguang. He was wounded and died in battle at Yongxing County, and was posthumously awarded the title of Yunqiwei (a military rank). This title was later inherited by his son, Deerbu, and grandson, Fushou.
A military commander was a military officer who commanded his subordinate military units. These units were responsible for both guard duties and participation in battle. Yunqiwei was a hereditary title awarded for military merit. The fact that the title was bestowed after death and that it was inherited indicates that the qualification was transferred to descendants. Therefore, it cannot be inferred that Deerbu and Fushou also participated in the Battle of Yongxing or succeeded to the position of military commander.
The genealogy also records that Momin's grandson, Ertu, served as a zuoling (a military rank), Deerte was a fourth-rank official, and his great-grandson, Turqi, was an eighth-rank official. The title "zuoling" (ZuoLing) indicates the responsibilities of grassroots organizational management, but the titles "Fourth Rank" (SiPin) and "Eighth Rank" (BaPin) only specify the rank and cannot be used to determine the specific official name. "Da Hu Li" (DaHuLi) here refers to the ancestral home, and its pronunciation cannot be used to identify the clan or modern location. The Manchu surname of the family, the birth and death dates of Mo Min (MoMin), and the dates of the Yongxing War still require cross-verification with historical records.
