Overview
Guo Qinbulu: Guo Qinbulu is a member of the Toljia clan, listed in Volume 56 of the *Comprehensive Genealogy of the Manchu Clans of the Eight Banners*. He belonged to the Bordered Yellow Banner and was a resident of Qiqihar. He submitted to the Qing dynasty during the Tiancong era. He served as a military officer in the campaign against Burni in Chahar, and distinguished himself in the Battle of Dalu, earning the title of Yunqiwei (a military rank). This title was later inherited by his son, Yilantai.
Tiancong was the reign title of Huang Taiji. His submission and the subsequent campaign against Burni belonged to different political and military periods, and his entire life cannot be lumped together into the Tiancong era. A military officer was a low-ranking official in the military organization, involved in troop management and training; Yunqiwei was a hereditary title of merit, officially a fifth-rank official in the Qing dynasty. Granting a hereditary title did not equate to a transfer to another military post, nor did a son automatically inherit his father's military rank.
Toljia is listed as a Manchu surname in the original text. Qiqihar was the ancestral home of this branch, Dalu was the location of the battle, and banner affiliation refers to organizational structure. The family ancestral records do not provide Guo Qinbulu's birth date, nor do they prove that his troops were always stationed in Qiqihar. The original book confirms the person's combat experience and appointment, but does not provide specific dates of enlistment, start and end dates of appointment, or modern battlefield locations; the number of military personnel and achievements are described only according to the records in the book, without elaborating on unverified details.
