Overview
The Nata clan is a Manchu surname listed in Volume 58 of the official genealogy of the Manchu clans of the Eight Banners, compiled during the Qianlong reign. They originally resided in Nimacha. The Yarna branch of the Bordered Blue Banner submitted to the Qing dynasty at the beginning of the dynasty. Their grandson, Fudali, served as a military officer, as did his great-grandson, Sergud. Fuershan was also a military officer at the time the genealogy was compiled. The year of submission for the Mangjili branch of the same banner is unknown. Their son, Ahumi, served as a defense officer, and their grandson, Liushiba, had the title "Third-Class Huxi" in the electronic version.
The military officer managed the subordinate guards, undertaking duties such as guarding and accompanying on campaigns. Defense officers were military officers of the Eight Banners. The fact that several generations of Yarna's descendants served as military officers only indicates the distribution of positions; it does not prove that all of them successively inherited the same position, nor can all their positions be attributed to Yarna himself.
Liushiba is a personal name, and "Huxi" is suspected of being a transcription issue. Verification of the original text is needed to determine whether it refers to a guard. The text retains this point of doubt without direct alteration. Even though two branches share the same surname, banner, and location, the differences in their records of allegiance cannot be erased, or they could be arbitrarily identified as brothers. The specific villages of Nimacha, the Manchu surnames and lineages of each branch, the detailed relationship between Fuershan and Sergude, and the dates of their appointments as officials still need to be verified. The entire population and migration route cannot be supplemented from a single descendant record.
