Overview
Liude is a figure listed in Volume 79 of the Qing Dynasty official genealogy, *the Comprehensive Genealogy of the Manchu Clans of the Eight Banners*, under the section "Appendix: Surnames of the Tainikan within the Manchu Banners." The genealogy records him as a member of the Plain Yellow Banner, residing in Gaizhou for generations, and who submitted to the Qing Dynasty during the Tiancong era. His great-grandson, Sijiu, served as a garrison commander during the compilation, and Yaling'a once served as a Qiduwei (hereditary merit rank). The genealogy records him as a member of the Plain Yellow Banner. The phrase "submitted during the Tiancong era" places his submission during the reign of Huang Taiji, before the establishment of the Qing Dynasty, but the original entry does not provide specific years, locations, or details of his submission. A Qiduwei (hereditary merit rank) was a low-ranking military officer within the Eight Banners, belonging to the cavalry battalion system, participating in the training, deployment, and camp affairs of the soldiers under their command; the title alone cannot imply independent military achievements. A garrison commander was a military officer within the Eight Banners' garrison system, typically assisting in the management of camps and city defenses; when the genealogy does not specify the garrison location and term of office, a vacant garrison position with the same name cannot be directly attributed to an individual. This entry confirms Liude's banner affiliation, organizational status, ancestral home, and records of his or his relatives' official appointments listed in the genealogy; however, it does not provide his birth and death dates or a complete migration process.
