Clan and source Anahan belonged to the Guwalgiya clan of the Plain Blue Banner and was associated with Suwan. The official genealogy describes him as a clan relative of Danbu and places his family among those who joined Nurhaci early. Volume 1 of the *Comprehensive Genealogy of the Eight Banner Manchu Clans* gives no substantive office for Anahan himself, but records the appointments and military merits of his sons and later descendants.
His sons' separate service Anahan's eldest son Arshan served as a *hujun canling*, an officer supervising troops within the Guard establishment. His second son Duntai took part in operations in Shaanxi while holding an official grade of the eighth rank. The record does not identify his actual office, so that grade cannot be converted into a guessed military or clerical appointment. Duntai died fighting a relieving force at the siege of Qinzhou and was posthumously granted *yunqiwei*, a hereditary military merit distinction.
Later inheritance Duntai's son Mukedeng inherited the award and separately served as a second-class guard in a princely household, an institution distinct from the emperor's imperial guard. Mukedeng's son Heshan later succeeded to the dignity. Another distant descendant, Mingtai, served in a ceremonial office associated with ritual proclamation. Such appointments demonstrate varied military, household and ceremonial service, but they were not personal offices or battlefield achievements of Anahan. Original documents are still needed to establish precise service dates and the missing paternal connections.
