Overview

Ordoma: Ordoma is a member of the Erhe clan in Volume 57 of the *General Genealogy of Manchu Clans of the Eight Banners*, belonging to the Plain White Banner. His family had lived in Nierji for generations, and he once served as a cavalry officer. His entry shares the same end-of-section description of his submission at the beginning of the dynasty as that of Chobai, thus providing a general record of the submission period, though the specific year and month are unclear.

Erhe is listed as a Manchu surname in the genealogy, and the clan's general description mentions places like Suifen, but the original residence of Ordoma's branch is listed as Nierji. The modern correspondence of Nierji still needs historical and geographical verification; one cannot replace an individual's ancestral home with the clan's general residence, nor can one simply change it to a name of an existing village based on similar pronunciation.

The cavalry officer participated in the management and training of grassroots soldiers in the Eight Banners' cavalry organization, with the Plain White Banner being its main organizational unit. The title was not the same as the general title for all officers, nor was it different from that of the Guards Officer or the Infantry Officer. The original book lacks information about Ordomar's military unit, garrison location, term of office, and descendants, therefore it cannot be directly stated that he served as a cavalry commander in Nierji, nor can the succession of his position be presumed. The genealogy book preserves the most accurate facts regarding his clan, banner affiliation, ancestral home, and a past military post.
