Overview
Volume 58 of the Qing Dynasty's *Comprehensive Genealogy of the Manchu Clans of the Eight Banners* preserves clues about Nersu's banner affiliation and the positions held by his relatives. At this stage, the explicit content of the genealogy text serves as the boundary of fact. The genealogy places Nersu under the heading "Wuchala Clan"; here, Nersu remains the main entry, and the surname heading only indicates the family arrangement in the genealogy and cannot replace the individual's name. According to the original entry, Nersu was a member of the Bordered Red Banner, residing in Anchulaku. The original entry only states "Bordered Red Banner," without mentioning bondservants or Han soldiers. "Anchulaku" preserves important clues about his ancestral home, but currently lacks sufficient place name evidence to confirm its modern location; therefore, the original name should be maintained and marked as pending further investigation. "Xieling" was an administrative title within banner affairs or a specific institution, with specific levels and responsibilities varying depending on the system. The genealogy subsequently preserves the following chain of relatives and positions: his grandson, Wu Liangzai, was formerly an Xieling.
