Overview

Zhakdan is a member of the Bordered White Banner under the "Tong'erluo Clan" section of Volume 57 of the *Comprehensive Genealogy of the Manchu Clans of the Eight Banners*, whose family resided in the Zhakuta region. The genealogy lists Zhakdan's group as those who surrendered at the beginning of the dynasty, but does not directly record his official position or the specific date of his surrender.

His great-grandson, Bolbo, served as a military officer; Tongtai served as a cavalry officer at the time the genealogy was compiled; his great-great-grandsons, Eseli, Huase, Zhubaozhu, and Hashtai, served as cavalry officers at the time the genealogy was compiled; and Zhangmei served as a vanguard officer. These titles belong to different Eight Banners military or garrison organizations and cannot be simplified to Zhakdan's personal experience of rising from military officer to garrison commander.

In the same clan section, there is another member, Woji, whom Yuan Wenming referred to as "a member of Zhakdan's clan"; this proves their clan relationship in the genealogy's arrangement, but does not specify their exact kinship generations. Zakuta is the historical ancestral home name preserved in the genealogy, but its modern location and details of Zakdan's life still lack directly quotable information.
