Overview

The genealogy book places Gadahun under the heading "Shufacha Clan"; here, Gadahun remains the main entry, and the surname heading only indicates the family arrangement in the genealogy book and cannot replace the person's name. According to the original entry, Gadahun was a member of the Bordered Yellow Banner and surrendered at the beginning of the dynasty. The original entry only states "Bordered Yellow Banner member," without mentioning bondservants or Han soldiers. "Surrendered at the beginning of the dynasty" is a general time marker, and existing materials are insufficient to determine the Gregorian calendar year or the specific process of surrender. This entry does not specify the ancestral residence, and place names cannot be taken from adjacent entries with the same surname, given name, or from adjacent entries in the same volume. "Blacksmith Assistant Leader" is an official title for managing the banner's blacksmith organization, and the name reflects its connection to the artisan organization; the affiliated institution and actual responsibilities still need to be verified by archives. "Valiant Qiduwei" is a basic military officer in the Eight Banners' cavalry battalion, participating in the training and camp affairs of the soldiers under his command; the official title itself cannot prove participation in a specific battle. The genealogy document subsequently preserved the following chain of relatives and their positions: former blacksmith supervisor; his grandson Changshou, currently a cavalry officer.
