Overview

Keqi appears in Volume 59 of the Qing Dynasty official compilation, *Comprehensive Genealogy of the Manchu Clans of the Eight Banners*. The core verifiable information lies in the banner affiliation, ancestral home, and lineage listed in the original entry. The genealogy places Keqi under the heading "Shunbulu Clan"; here, Keqi remains the main entry, and the surname heading only indicates the family arrangement in the genealogy and cannot replace the individual's name. According to the original entry, Keqi was a member of the Bordered Yellow Banner and submitted to the Qing Dynasty at the beginning of the dynasty. The original entry only states "Bordered Yellow Banner member," without mentioning bondservants or Han soldiers. "Submitted to the Qing Dynasty at the beginning of the dynasty" is a general time marker; existing materials are insufficient to determine the Gregorian calendar year or the specific process of submission. This entry does not specify the ancestral home, so place names cannot be borrowed from adjacent entries with the same surname, given name, or from adjacent entries in the same volume. The title "Xiaoqi Xiao" was a low-ranking military officer in the Eight Banners' Xiaoqi Battalion, involved in the training and camp affairs of the subordinate zuoling soldiers; the official title itself cannot prove participation in a specific battle. The genealogy also records the following about the subject's life: his brother, Aina's grandson, Walda, was originally a cavalry officer.
