Overview

Ying'erli appears in Volume 58 of the *Comprehensive Genealogy of the Manchu Clans of the Eight Banners*, under the entry for the Yujia clan. He was a member of the Plain White Banner, and his family had lived in Ekedun City for generations. The original text does not list Ying'erli's official position, focusing instead on the positions held by his sons, grandsons, and great-grandsons. These positions cannot be attributed to the subject himself.

The genealogy records that Ying'erli's son, Waita, served as a cavalry captain; his grandson, Qishi, also served as a cavalry captain; Qiketeng served as a deputy commander at the time of compilation; and his great-grandson, Sahai, served as a cavalry captain, while Yiermen served as "acting military commander" at the time of compilation. Here, "acting" differs from "actually appointed commander," implying a de facto appointment or assignment, and the qualifier cannot be omitted; "currently serving" reflects his position at the time of compilation.

Ekedun City is a historical place of residence preserved in the original text, and without additional geographical evidence, it cannot be forcibly designated as a modern geographical location. While the original text mentions banner positions such as cavalry captain, deputy commander, and military commander within the same branch, it does not specify that all these individuals served in the same banner or participated in the same military operations. The reliable information about Ying'e Li Tiao consists of his banner affiliation, clan arrangement, and the positions held by his descendants across different generations. However, there is still insufficient information regarding his birth and death dates and personal deeds.
